I'm
glad you made it because we need your help. Recharger has gone crazy
and is running around yelling "H.E.Y." at everyone.
He's been yelling "H.E.Y."
in the bathroom, "H.E.Y."
in the kitchen, even
"H.E.Y." in the garage. He's gone H.E.Y.-Wire!
I called together the Power SAVER team to see if anyone knows what
is going on. Elle says it has something
to do with the e-LICK-tricity calculator and that "H.E.Y."
is a game. All I know is that it
has been a real H.E.Y.-day around here!
We have concluded that the only way to get Recharger to calm
down is to play his "H.E.Y." game. For this we are
relying on you. I know you can do it.... "H.E.Y.", "H.E.Y.",
"H.E.Y."... hurry before it's too late... "H.E.Y.",
"H.E.Y.", "H.E.Y.".....
Use
Recharger’s e-Lick-tricity
Calculator to find out how
efficient your home is. Compare your results before and after using
the conservation tips.
Or, compete with other members of your class to see who has the
most efficient house and who can make it more efficient after two
months of conserving.
RECHARGER’S
E-LICK-TRICITY CALCULATOR
The calculator helps you measure how much energy you use.
How do I use Recharger’s e-Lick-tricity Calculator?
Step #1: Click on Recharger’s
e-Lick-tricity Calculator.
Step #2: Under the heading “# items” type in the number
you own of that appliance.
Step #3: Tab over to “Hr/Days” (Hours used per Day)
and type in the number of hours that appliance is on each day. This
is all in percentages of an hour (ex. 15 min. per day = 25% or .25
Hr/Day)
Step #4: Hit “Enter”. The calculator will tell you how
much electricity that device uses over two months.
How do I
play H.E.Y.?
Step #1: If you have Chatham-Kent Hydro Power SAVER Team booklet,
remove the H.E.Y. card pages from the centre of the booklet and
cut out the eight H.E.Y. cards. If you don't have the booklet, you
can print off additional cards to use - CARDS
PAGE 1, CARDS
PAGE 2.
Step #2: Using Recharger’s
e-Lick-tricity Calculator, figure out how much electricity
the different electronic devices use every two months.
Step #3: Add up the amounts beside each device to get your total
electricity use for that room in a two month period.
Step #4: Compare your results with your other classmates. The most
efficient score wins.

 Vin
Volt here again. So you played the H.E.Y. game. Did
you win? Did you lose?
Could your score have been better? Take
the H.E.Y. game challenge. It's not hard, but it might require a
little change. HEY, I know you can do it!
Step #1 - Grab your parents by the nose (not to
hard) and tell them you need their help.
Step #2 - Using the H.E.Y. game cards from the last game, go through
the energy efficient tips available throughout the web site (see
"Room Energy Tips" just below) and see how you
can work on improving your score.
Step #3 - DO IT! With your parents help, apply the tips that you
just talked about. (You're going to have to take charge of this
and help make sure your parents do everything you talk about.)
Step #4 - Wait a few days and then play the H.E.Y. game again. Did
your score improve?
We know this
game is a challenge because it means you will have to change some
